WHO SURVIVED...."75"..?

who survived..."1975"...,i`m just curious,how many of us,are there?those of us that lived though this,will know what i mean.

I was approaching middle age then, went to KM school that year and was “lifted” by the experience at KM school. If only things were as perfect back home, in the real world, as they were during those two weeks.

Immediately following KM school my JW family began to fall apart, the congregation began to fall apart, the elders became vindictive and all seemed to be going in a steep downward spiral.

It, of course, actually turned out to be an upward spiral. Eventually, life started to become better. Freedom slowly immerged.

How Do We Respond to the WTS on the UN?

oh hello, just little old me.. i want to talk about and ask a question about the watchtower's "spin" in the un fiascao.. based on my review of the case, there are 2 "spins" that need to be "counterspinned".. these wts "spins" that deserve responses are:.

1) the watchtower did not keep this un "association" a secret and the leaders were not hiding anything.. 2) the watchtower used this "association" to help promote its educational and voluntary work through out the world.

we only considered the support of the un charter in help our brothers get their religious freedom.

I don’t think we want to “spin” this issue. To do so is to resort to the Wt.’s loathsome tactics. Lets state the facts and let the chips fall where they will.

Thanks for the insight, Seeker. My perspective is from far away – the other side of the country. I remember the NYC of the 50s (the huge conventions of ’50, 53, and 58), and the 70s when I visited my son at Bethel, vs. the current NYC that I have loved to visit for its Museums, Theater and Opera. Being able to walk around Times Square without being accosted by hookers or having to step over poor inebriated souls on the sidewalk makes it a much more pleasurable city to visit.

It’s a wonder that Rudy was ever elected in such a liberal town as NYC. In a state that would elect such obnoxious senators as Hilary and that other bozo that defended the lying of Clinton, it is remarkable that Rudy was elected Mayor in its largest city.

I am sure that he did not correct all of NYC’s problems, including poverty, homelessness, etc., but he certainly did cleanup the theater district. That proved to be a boon to the City’s economy, since travelers feel much safer in the City, especially the Times Square area and other tourist areas.

He has worked tirelessly since the bombing on Sept. 11, and he is not a well man. Remember, he is fighting prostate cancer and he is not too young any more either.

CNN mentions Jehovah's Witnesses Today

i have been watching the news on cnn and happened to notice the news flashing across the bottom mentioning the state of ohio banning door to door work and jehovah's witnesses!

has anyone seen this?

Some, who do not wish to be bothered by door to door types build in gated communities. Others buy in high-rise buildings with secure entrances. JWs and other door to door types seldom gain access to these occupants.

What we are saying here is that an entire community, or at least a large majority may want to erect a legal barrier to some unwanted pestering. Yet a minority can overturn that legal barrier, but can not overturn a physical barrier to their door to door canvassing.

MAJOR MAJOR UN/WTS NEWS - PART 2 - BREAKING HARD

flash - major breaking!!!!!!!.

i just talked to paul hoeffel 1:35pm - he phoned me.. okay people.

i can now confirm that the watchtower has provided a letter in writing to dpi indicating that the wts has "disassociated" themselves from dpi - ie the wts has made it offical that they have quit.. i can also confirm that the wts has been updating dpi regularily as they are suppose to over the last 10 years.. i can also can say that something is in the works that i can disclose by hopeflly tomorrow.

as of 11:45 this morning (i had a telphone call this morning with the refernce department person named holly at 212-963-7234), i can tell you that the watchtower has disassociated itself from the united nations dpi!!!!!!.

the dpi is now taking them off the list.

the dpi requested the list removal to be done this morning!!!!!.

Aren¡¦t you a little surprised that the WTS withdrawal can be accomplished with a single phone call from the WTS? Of course, the UN probably seldom has anyone withdraw and they probably seldom deal with anyone as treacherous as the WTS. But, I would expect them to require a follow-up to the phone call with some written documentation, otherwise, who knows, it could have been a malicious call from an apostate ƒº

Those of you who are talking with the UN representatives are probably trying to find out the name of the person that called them yesterday from the WTS. That information, along with copies of any written documentation would be very helpful.
